Expanding the reach of our documentaries: AI & Animals and Seantience

24 Apr 2026

At Animal Ethics, our educational work aims to provide resources that encourage critical thinking about the future of sentient beings. Through our two documentary projects, we are addressing neglected ethical issues and the challenges posed by emerging technologies.

Here is an update on the reach and recent developments of our audiovisual projects.

AI & Animals: A documentary

In the two months since its release, AI & Animals has surpassed 9,400 views. This includes 4,500 views on Animal Ethics’ channels and 4,960 views via partner platforms such as Unchained TV and Plant Based News.

Several key figures in the field also helped amplify the film’s visibility, including Peter Singer, who promoted the documentary across his social media channels. Additionally, Peter Singer, Constance Li, and Aditya S. Karanam joined Jane Velez-Mitchell on UnchainedTV to discuss the documentary and the future of animals in the age of AI. You can watch that conversation here.

The documentary has served as a tool for discussion at events on four continents, including:

·Sentient Futures Summit (San Francisco) and EAGx Sweden

·Animal Rights Delhi Conference (India) and screenings in La Plata (Argentina)

·Effective Altruism groups in Germany, Mexico, and Spain

Further screenings are confirmed for EAGx Washington DC and AVA Canada.

The film remains free to watch at AIandAnimals.org.

Seantience documentary: Festivals and international screenings

Our documentary Seantience continues to gain recognition within the film festival circuit. It has been nominated for the Arctic Film Festival, following its selection at SUNCINE, the 4th Vegan Çiftlik International Short Film Festival, and the FAUNA Tepoztlán Animal Festival 2025. It was also awarded Best Cinematography at the International Animal and Environmental Film Festival (FICAA).

Beyond festivals, Sentience is expanding its on-the-ground reach through community screenings. Recent updates include:

·⠀New screening locations across Spain

·⠀Debut screenings in India, Chile, and Argentina

·⠀An upcoming screening in Ecuador and Canada

The film is available in both English and Spanish at Seantience.org.

How to support these projects

The impact of these materials depends on their distribution and accessibility. If you would like to support these efforts, there are several ways to get involved:

·Share the content: Posting the documentaries on social media or linking to them from your website helps the information reach new audiences.

·Host a screening: We encourage individuals and organizations to host public screenings. If you are interested in organizing an event in your local community, please contact us at [email protected] or [email protected].

·Support our work: Donations help us maintain our independence and fund the translation and dubbing of these documentaries and materials into additional languages. This is essential for our global outreach, ensuring that vital ethical information is accessible to audiences regardless of the language they speak.
