Between now and January 7, your donation to Animal Ethics will be twice as valuable! Each dollar you donate to us between now and then will be matched dollar for dollar.
Animal Ethics has been named a standout animal organization by Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE), a nonprofit charity aimed at analyzing the effectiveness of animal charities throughout the world. ACE points out that, “Animal Ethics works in a generally neglected and potentially very important area, especially with their work on wild animal issues. The part of their work that is done in academia is especially promising.”
You can now help us to be twice as effective! If you donate $5 to us, we’ll receive $10, if you donate $100, we’ll receive $200, and so on.
This is possible thanks to world renowned economist, Professor Yew-Kwang Ng, who has offered to double all donations to Animal Ethics up to $25,000. Yew-Kwang Ng is Winsemius professor in economics at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and emeritus professor of economics at Monash University in Australia. He’s a member of the Academy of Social Sciences in Australia and has been given the highest award (Distinguished Fellow) of the Economic Society of Australia. Although most of his work has been in the field of economics, in a recent interview Professor Ng stated: “In terms of its potential implications for reducing suffering, I regard my welfare biology paper as more important than all my contributions in economics put together.” As he explains in the interview, he thinks the best ways to help animals are by challenging speciesism, by spreading concern about wild animal suffering, and by researching ways that we could help wild animals. Those are the main goals of Animal Ethics as well.
This is a great opportunity to support our work. In addition to our resource website, which is now available in four languages, we give talks and organize events in Europe, North America, and Latin America, do street outreach work leafleting and tabling, and carry out and support academic work and publications on the situation of animals and speciesism.
You can donate by credit card, check, or PayPal. If you want to wire the money, or donate by any other method, you can contact us here, by calling 510-984-4297, or at info(a)animal-ethics.org. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask us.
Some employers have giving programs that will match their employees’ donations. If your employer is one of them, your donation will be quadrupled!
We thank Professor Yew-Kwang Ng for his generosity, as well as you, our supporters, for making our work possible!
