Wild Animal Suffering / Welfare Biology research and outreach coordinator
Remote, open to international candidates
Animal Ethics is an internationally operating charity with an antispeciesist approach that gives moral consideration to all sentient beings.
One of our main areas of work is promoting the creation of welfare biology, which is the scientific study of the situation of animals in the wild and ways to reduce the harms they suffer, primarily due to natural causes. Animal Ethics works on ways to promote such research in academia. We also conduct research in wild animal suffering, and do outreach work to spread concern about this issue. We are looking for someone with the capacity to further and coordinate this work.
The candidate should be able to carry out research and coordinate the work of other researchers in this field, compose solid grant applications, and foster the creation of partnerships with other organizations to promote collaboration in this field.
The person in this position should be able to work with minimal supervision, and will be reporting to the Board and the Director. Compensation will depend on salary standards in the applicant’s country of residence.

Animal Ethics was formed to provide information and promote discussion and debate about issues in animal ethics, and to provide resources for animal advocates. We’re committed to defending animals exploited by humans and to spreading veganism, and we are concerned with improving our effectiveness to maximize our impact. Our major focus is raising concern about wild animal suffering and what we can do about it. We are an internationally active organization, approved by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity. We are based in the USA, also work in Europe and Latin America, and are planning to expand to other places in the near future.
